About Us
Our Philosophy
Born to Be Raised was founded on the belief that children deserve learning environments that honor their natural curiosity, need for movement, and desire for real-world connection. We believe that raising a child well and educating them well are not separate things, but the same work.
Our educational approach combines strong foundational academics with experiential, relationship-driven learning. Drawing inspiration from Montessori, Reggio Emilia, outdoor education, and inquiry-based models, we prioritize critical thinking, meaningful engagement, and deep understanding over memorization and passive instruction.
At Born to Be Raised, children are encouraged to communicate confidently, solve problems creatively, take ownership, and engage actively with the world around them. We believe education should feel connected to real life, extending beyond the classroom into exploration, conversation, responsibility, and everyday experiences.
Our goal is to help raise grounded, capable, curious humans with strong academic foundations, confident identities, and a lasting connection to learning and the world around them.
Curiosity
Fostering a natural desire to ask questions and seek understanding.
Connection
Building meaningful relationships with peers, mentors, and the earth.
Practical Life
Engaging in real-world skills that build confidence and independence.
A Note From Our Founder
My passion for children and education has been shaped by years of hands-on experience, grounded in a background in social work and early childhood education.
I entered foster care at 10 years old and, for the first time began experiencing many things that should define childhood: consistency, structure, encouragement, emotional safety, and adults truly invested in my growth and well-being. That experience profoundly shaped the way I view children, development, and the environments kids grow up in.
"It taught me that how a child is raised matters just as much as what they are taught."
Over the years, I've worked across early childhood education, child welfare, operations, and family-centered organizations, including owning and operating a commercial preschool in Canada. Across every role, one thing remained clear: children thrive when they are supported, appropriately challenged, genuinely known, and given both strong foundations and the freedom to fully experience childhood.
Born to Be Raised was created from that belief.
If you are here, it is probably because you want your child to thrive, academically and as a human being, and you have not yet found a place that makes room for both. That feeling is worth listening to. Children only get one childhood, and the environment they spend it in shapes everything: what they learn, who they become, how they see themselves, and how they show up in the world. We believe a child can build real academic skills, character, confidence and wonder all at the same time. That is what we set out to build here. And we would love for your family to be part of it.
